Lindisfarne, also known as the Holy island, was one of the first landing sites of the Vikings. The Lindisfarne raid (June AD793) on the monastery of Lindisfarne was just off the north east coast of England at Northumbria.

The island measures just over 4km square and is almost 3km from the main land. It can be reached by a causeway. It takes about 2 hours to walk the causeway.
